  • “The beauty of Kait’s art is that you can see yourself reflected so eloquently back at yourself within it. Even though the pieces themselves are beautiful, you see within them the parts of yourself that feel messy & unknowable by anyone. It’s there in the emotion of the painting & you want to point to it & say to someone, “There, see, that’s me - know me there.” I think everyone should have something in their home that they connect to in that way. All of Kait’s art forms - from her poems & creative writing to her paintings, drawings & photographs, have been my great honor to witness to watch evolve over time.”

    - Nichole Capps

  • “To be immersed in the work of Kait Mauro is to be immersed in the fragilities, strengths, vulnerabilities and authenticity of the human spirit, we all wear labels of course and one of Kait’s many gifts is that she is able to make her own labels relatable and authentic - when she shows herself in her work, we see ourselves - giving us a piece of herself over within her art - I am lucky enough to own one of her works and would recommend Kait’s work to anyone.”

    — Danny Steele

  • “I love Kait’s art because it’s an authentic expression of herself & how she experiences the world. Her bold and beautifully textured paintings remind me of the light & darkness inherent in being a human.

    - Ana Iglesias

  • “Kait’s art is evocative & makes me feel more deeply. What I enjoy most about her pieces are her skillful use of color & texture. I am always excited to see her new work.”

    - Joy Vanessa

  • “Abstract, yet so richly and peculiarly articulated through brave & expressive mark making, Kait’s art carries you to your own emotional depths. She has found a way with her own unique visual language to lead us to our own bravery, curiosity & and experience of being human.”

    - Ines Karamehmedovic

  • “Kait is a wonderfully loving soul with incredible talent. Her artistic practice is beautifully raw, whether with one of her mesmerizing paintings or creative writing on her Substack. When she shares her work with us, she welcomes us into her life with beautiful, powerful & insightful words. Kait embraces play & experimentation in her creative practice. She fully embraces & shares the joy that her process brings her. I love her openness and integrity & truly adore her work.”

    - Ti Buckley

  • “Kait’s enthusiasm for the creative is infectious. The authenticity & honesty evoked in her work is what pulls me in. Her pieces can derive from something as simple as a range of colors to a more personal and deeper connection to self and her life experiences. It is sometimes raw and gestural & other times more considered but it is always from the soul.”

    - Matt Hills

Lately looks like procrastinating on editing the poems but finally finding the right title for the new project (”Tender Offering”).

A tender offering. Www you know where but also DM if you can’t seem to find it but want to.
No fixed address, city, or state.

Just art, dogs, a suitcase and some boxes, temporary places, twelve step meetings & learning to feel okay being with myself in quiet (harder than it seems).

Is this growth or a life imploding?

Lately, life has been reminding me that even the hardest detours can lead somewhere beautiful.

This painting — “The Universe Is Conspiring On Your Behalf” — came out of that realization. It feels like hope in motion, gold bre
Borrowing some much-needed courage from @lordcowboy today. I love her work, and this is one of my all-time favorites. What is one word about the life that is yours—what do you hunger for? I want “centered.”

“I feel that to blossom is still, ultimately, to break.”
— @hel.rol

How beautiful and difficult to blossom, to be further broken open to the world and to myself.
